¡CARNAVAL!

A ver, ¿ya habéis pensado de qué os vais a disfrazar este fin de semana? ¡ES CARNAVAL! Yo ya lo tengo decidido, ¡no pienso perderme LA GRAN FIESTA DE CARNAVAL DE SITGES! Hoy comienza la fiesta grande de esta pequeña ciudad cerca de Barcelona (tan sólo 30 minutos en tren), os aseguro que merece la pena.
OK, have you already thought about your fancy dress for this weekend!? It’s CARNIVAL! I have already made my mind up, I’m not gonna miss THE BIG FUN OF SITGES CARNIVAL! Today the party starts in this little town near Barcelona (just 30 minutes by train), and I tell you: it’s really worth going at least once in your life!!
El carnaval de Sitges dura desde hoy hasta el martes 20, y ¡la fiesta en la calle es impresionante! Habrá desfiles (‘ruas’) en las calles y playas, los bares estarán abiertos toda la noche, así que habrá mucha fiesta. Incluso si no vais disfrazados, vivir el ambiente de Sitges este fin de semana es algo que no os podéis perder. Recomendación: El viernes, el domingo y el martes son los días grandes, aunque el sábado también habrá mucha gente.
Sitges Carnival is from today to Tuesday 20th, and the party in the streets is totally amazing! There will be parades (‘ruas’) in the streets and beaches, bars will be open all night, so there will be lots of fun! Even if you are not dressed up, you can’t miss the atmosphere in Sitges this weekend! Just a tip: Friday, Sunday and Tuesday are the big days, but Saturday will be very good too!
Si os sentís vagos, y preferís quedaros en Barcelona, también tendréis oportunidad de vivir el Carnaval. En el barrio de Gracia el sábado podéis ir al desfile más popular de toda la ciudad, y hasta hay concurso de disfraces. Si vais disfrazados, participad, y ¡podéis ganar premios de hasta 3,500 euros! El desfile comenzará a las 8 y media de la tarde en Plaza Lesseps.
If you feel lazy to take the train, and you prefer staying in Barcelona, you will also have the chance to experience the Carnival feeling. In Gracia district on Saturday, you can go to the most popular parade in the city, and there is even a Fancy Dress Competition! If you are dress up, don’t hesitate to join in, because you can win prizes up to 3,500 euros! The parade starts at 8,30 in the evening in Plaza Lesseps.
Ah! Y como curiosidad, ¿sabéis que en Barcelona se disfrazan los tenderos de mercados y supermercados? Es muy divertido ir a comprar este fin de semana.
And, a curious thing, did you know that workers in markets and supermarkets will be dressed up as well!? This weekend it will be fun to go shopping..
