Ayer fuimos al precioso Mercado de Santa Lucía, en la Plaza de la Catedral, donde cada año se venden todo tipo de objetos de decoración navideña (figuras para el pesebre, árboles de Navidad, bolas…).

Después fuimos paseando por el barrio Gótico hasta la Plaza de San Jaume para ver el tradicional pesebre que se instala allí. rminamos el paseo tomando un delicioso chocolate caliente para combatir el frío todos juntos en una de las cafeterías típicas del barrio Gótico. ¡Fue estupendo!

Dos tomates van por la carretera, pasa un coche y uno le dice al otro: ¿Quééé? (Keee) y el otro responde: CHUUUUUP (muere aplastado)

If you visit Barcelona, you will see the name of Gaudí everywhere, but maybe you don´t now exactly who he is, what he has done and why he is so famous. However if you hear the name of monuments such as : Sagrada Familia, La Casa Milá-La Pedrera, la casa Vicenc, La Casa Batlló o Park Güell, you will very quickly associate these names with Barcelona. Gaudí is the author of all these works.

Born in 1852 in Reus (Tarragona, near Barcelona), from his childhood, Gaudí loved to observe the nature and putting special attention to its forms, shapes and colours. In1868 he decided to study architecture in Barcelona in a school dominated by Neoclasic and Romantic tendencies of the period. Therefore a great historical-oriental influence can be observed on his first production together with the use of medieval elements.

Today we welcomed the new students starting with their Christmas course.

We have prepared a special Christmas welcome party where students can meet between them meanwhile tasting traditional Spanish Christmas sweets, don’t miss the ‘turrón’, ‘mazapán’ or the ‘polvorones’!

During the week our students will have the opportunity to learn the Christmas traditions in Spain, sing Spanish Christmas Carols and enjoy all the festive atmosphere that Barcelona has to offer on Christmas.

We’ll be informing you about all the exciting things that we have prepared for our students during the week.

A film - ‘Eragon’
A new film, Eragon, based on a book of fantasy and adventures, has arrived at cinema screens all over Barcelona.  You can see it in both the original version and dubbed into Spanish.

A concert - Rapattack 2006
This weekend brings us a mini rap festival, held in the ‘Apolo’ club, featuring some of the best Spanish groups on the scene, including Jota Mayúscula and Tres Coronas, to name a few.
