A day in Barcelona

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

Hi everyone!

Today was a beautiful day! The weather was pretty nice! On a day like this there are a lot of things to do in Barcelona!

This morning I went to class. We have learned a lot today, like we always do! The class is pretty intensive, but time flies when you are having fun. Before I realised, the classes were finished!

After class I went to the centre of Barcelona, because I had a lot of free time to spent. This is what I like very much about this school: I learn a lot and I have also a lot of free time to spent to do things that I want to do. So, I decided to go to the centre of Barcelona. It is very close to the school! I took a walk through the centre and I enjoyed the sun. The centre looks very diferent on a sunny day. People are smiling and it seems like everyone is happy! I also walked to the sea. It takes only 15 minutes to walk from the school. I enjoyed the sea and the sun. Like I did last Saturday, I went to the beach with two friends of mine. Though, it is too cold to swim, I think. Some people did not think the same, because a few people were swimming! (more…)

“Ladies and gentlemen… directly from Cavalia: Marie Soleil!”

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

Hey everyone,

It is really a great pleasure for me to introduce this new entry!

As most of you probably know, Annie and Marie-Soleil (our two very friendly students from Montréal ) both work in Cavalia, the magic horse show that is currently taking place in the Forum. I first thought I would write about their show and then Marie-Soleil kindly suggested to give us her own presentation about the show:

The easiest way to discover Barcelona

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Hello everybody,

How are you? Since spring is comming to town, I just thought about all these lovely things you could do here in Barcelona. So let me start with one of the most popular things to do for people coming to BCN!

The Barcelona Bus Touristic is one of the easiest ways to get to know Barcelona. The bus touristic enables you to know Barcelona by a two floor bus (a roofless double-decker, your first opportunity to get a tan!), with three different routes. With a single ticket you can get on or off the bus as many times as you want. You’ll only need one ticket for all routes. Some of the stops are common to other routes which makes it quite easy to change.

The Northern route and the Southern Route are approx. two hours long, while the Forum route is 40 minutes long. The Forum route runs only during summer season! (more…)

My wonderful experience at Camino Barcelona!

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

Hi everyone!

I am Valerie, 19 years old. I am a third-year student of the university of Maastricht. I study International Business and Languages. Now I am here in Barcelona for an internship. First I will study for four weeks at Camino Barcelona to improve my Spanish. After that I will do an internship at the school. This is the second time I have studied at this school. In October 2007 I was here for 2 weeks. I had a great time! That´s the reason why I have decided to go back to Camino Barcelona. I started my second course a week ago.I have learned a lot so far! The group sizes are very small, so the teachers can pay extra attention to every single student. I have to speak Spanish in class. Sometimes this is a little hard for me, but with a little help of the teachers it is not a problem. I am glad that my Spanish language skills improves very quickly.

Hola a todos!

And now, it’s time for Easter and we are supposed to eat a little bit less…but the problem here in Barcelona is that there are too many goods restaurants!!!

Here you can find some of my favourite ones!

If you want to have some very good Catalan “tapas” (appetizers), the “Cerveceria Catalana” is the right place for you! (more…)

“Not to miss” places in Barcelona - Tibidabo

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

Hello everybody,

How are you? Today I saw a lot of students very tired in school! What happened to them??? Oh… yes… I know it! They were celebrating Carnival in Sitges last night! Did you have fun, guys? Well, I hope so… :-)

Now I would like to tell you a bit about another great attraction you can’t miss in BCN! Even though you can always go to the typical places like museums, there are other things that you simply can’t miss! You know, recently I told you about Montjuic and what you can see there. However, there is another interesting mountain in Barcelona! Let me introduce you ‘Tibidabo’!

As well as ‘Montjuic’, you have to explore this hill! If you’ve been in Barcelona you are likely to know it, even if you haven’t been there! Let me explain myself, do you remember that church on the top of a hill, with orange illumination at night? You can see it from almost any point of the city and it has become one of the ‘icons’ of Barcelona, that’s on Tibidabo hill! (more…)
