Hi!

My name is Anita, and as those of you who know me well, know that I am a huge fan of Spanish wines.

This week we are running an interesting activity- An Introduction to Wine Tasting.

So, to get you in the mood, I have decided to start a series of blogs dedicated to wine…

- The first one will be about the different areas and their characteristics;
- The second one will be about Catalan wineries and wines;
- The third about white wines and some recommendations;
- The fourth about red wines and some more recommendations.

So, are you ready?

WINE PRODUCING AREAS IN SPAIN

Spain is the third largest wine producer in the world and places a lot of effort and importance in their export market. What to do in Barcelona?

Friday, March 25th, 2011

Hi people,

I hope you are all fine and enjoying our sunny days in Barcelona. Becky has some tips for you:

Hi everyone!

This is my second blog, since starting in Barcelona. In this blog I want to talk a bit more about Barcelona, now that I have settled in and know a bit more about this city. I have been here for four weeks and the weather has slowly but surely been getting better. So, I have had chance to take some time out and wander around Barcelona’s city centre on Sunday afternoons. This is the best time to go exploring as, even though there are still tourists, the city has a more relaxing feel to it. So, I suggest you just head into town and explore all of the city, not just (more…)

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011

Hi everyone,

Our new workplacement Dionne from Netherlands has written a blog about her experience in Camino:

Hello everybody!

My name is Dionne and I’m from the Netherlands. I’m doing my internship at Camino for 20 weeks. In the Netherlands I study International Business and Languages and I have to work 20 weeks of my third year abroad. I wanted to do my internship in a Spanish speaking country, because I really want to improve my Spanish languages skills. I have chosen Barcelona, because it is a very beautiful city. I have visited Barcelona several times during summer holidays. There are so many things to do here, that it is almost impossible to get bored in Barcelona.

Last summer I was in Barcelona for my job interview at Camino. When I entered the school (more…)

Rebecca’s first impressions of Barcelona

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

Hi folks,

We have a new workplacement in Camino, Rebecca from UK. She has been here for 1 week now and has prepared a blog on her first impressions of Barcelona:

Hi,

I’m Rebecca (22 years old) and I am now working for Camino Barcelona. I am doing my work experience here for four months. I do German and Spanish at my home university in England and I needed to do four months of my year abroad in Spain. I wanted to improve my Spanish, so I thought that the best way to do this was in a working environment and Camino Barcelona offers this.

Camino Barcelona offers courses for people who want to improve their Spanish. The courses offered are from beginner level to advanced level, so they are used to meeting all different kinds of people of different nationalities.

This was apparent in they way they helped me on my first day. They were (more…)

Linguistic exchange

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

Hi everyone,

This is my first blog here and I would like to introduce myself: my name is Marta, and I have been a teacher here at Camino since July 2007. As I used to work in the Tourist Industry as a Tourist Guide, I would like to tell you a little bit about the cultural activities we offer here at Camino.

The activities we offer aim to help our students get to know each other a little better at the same time as visiting and exploring some of the fascinating places which the fantastic city of Barcelona has to offer. We try to choose activities which have a good balance between the rich cultural life of Barcelona whilst being fun at the same time.

In today’s blog I am going to talk to you about an activity I have always wanted to do with Camino students: a language exchange. (more…)
