A day trip to Tossa de Mar

Finally summer has arrived in Barcelona and we´ve got the opportunity to go on some trips around the city, visiting beaches and villages. I´d like to tell you about Tossa de Mar, a small town on the Costa Brava.
Finalmente el verano ha llegado a Barcelona y ahora tenemos la oportunidad de hacer algún viajecito cerca de la ciudad, para visitar pueblos o playas. Hoy me gustaría hablaros de Tossa de Mar, un pequeño pueblo en la Costa Brava.
It´s very easy to get there, you just have to get a bus from the station Barcelona Nord and off you go! The journey takes around one hour and there are buses at least every two hours.
Es muy fácil llegar hasta ahí, tan sólo tienes que coger el autocar que sale de la estación de autobuses de Barcelona Nord. El viaje dura alrededor de una hora y hay un autobús al menos cada 2 horas.
Tossa de Mar is a beautiful little town where you can have a swim in the Mediterranean sea, stroll in the small streets or visit the monuments, which are the most important sightseeing events of the whole area.
Tossa de Mar es un pueblecito precioso donde puedes darte un baño en el mar Mediterráneo, pasear por sus pequeñas calles or visitar sus monumentos, que son de los más importantes de toda la zona.
“Villa Vella”, a middle-aged historical site, lies upon a hill and is surrounded by a huge stonewall, dating back from the 14th century. The watch-tower of “Can Magí”, known as the Moorish tower, is also very impressive.
“Villa Vella”, una zona de orgien medieval, se encuentra en la cima de una colina rodeado de una muralla de piedra del siglo catorce. La torre de “Can Magí”, también conocida como la torre mora, es también muy impresionante.
Tossa de Mar offers you a variety of beaches. ‘Platja Gran’ is just a view minutes walk from the town center. You´ll find bars and cafes very close. The best thing is that you can enjoy a great view of the sea and the castle. ‘Mar Menuda’ is not far away either; there you´ll find it a bit more relaxing. ‘Es Codolar’ is a small beach hidden behind the castle, but it´s easy to get there by foot.
Tossa de Mar ofrece una gran variedad de playas. “Playa Grande” está a tan sólo unos minutos del centro. Puedes encontrar varios bares y cafeterías muy cerca. Lo mejor de esta playa es que puedes disfrutar de una gran vista de el mar y el castillo. “Mar menuda” tampoco está muy lejos, aunque auí el ambiente es un poco más tranquilo. “El Codolar” es una cala escondida detrás del castillo, pero no es difícil llegar hasta ella a pie.
No matter which beach you choose, I´m sure you´ll like Tossa de Mar. I liked it a lot as I´m a fan of small Spanish towns, that combine culture and beach - what could be better!?
No importa qué playa elijas, estoy segura de que te encantará Tossa de Mar. A mí me encantó ya que soy una “fan” de los pueblecitos españoles, que normalmente combinan cultura con playa - ¿qué podría ser mejor?
