A visit to the IMAX of Barcelona

Last weekend I had friends visiting, they had been already sometimes in Barcelona so they know the city already quite well, therefore we wanted to do something different and on Sunday we decided to go to the IMAX cinema in Port Vell.
We took the line 3 (green) in direction to Zona Universitaria and got off in Drassanes, at the end of la Rambla. You can also take line 4 (yellow) in direction to Pep Ventura and get off in Barceloneta. I recommend that you get early there because the tickets do not have seat numbers and if you want to have a good seat, you must be one of the first ones in the queue. The ticket for a double session costs 10€ but it is really worth the money!
We decided to go in the afternoon (but they show all day) to see Schakelton, an Antarctic Adventure, and Sharks in 3D. The first film was really interesting, the story of 28 men that in 1914 decided to cross the South Pole and had to survive for almost 2 years in the ice after their ship broke and was destroyed. An incredible story about a fantastic adventure with a happy ending. The images are so good, the music and the colours so beautiful that you really feel like sailing and even a bit sick. The second film, this time 3D, was a very good documental about sharks by the famous french captain Jean-Michel Costeau. This time with the huge 3D glasses on, not only you have a laugh, but the effects are absolutely amazing! The effect is so good that you feel the sharks coming to you and it is like diving among them. It is really cool! For me, as an animal lover, a much better experience than to see them in the Aquarium or in any of these acuatic parks all over the world where they live in captivity.
And I forgot to tell you! Not only it is a different experience but also a good way to practice your Spanish. The sound can not be better and the stories are very easy to follow and understand.
And finally if you want to have a taste of this experience, you can watch first this video by Discovery Channel.
I hope you enjoy an afternoon diving with sharks!
