An average day at Camino Barcelona…

RosannaGood afternoon all!

If you have not yet lived the ‘Camino Barcelona experience’ you might well be wondering what an average day is like as a student at our school??  Well, let me give you an idea of a student’s daily routine, the best places to grab a coffee at break time and great sites to see nearby after class!  For those of you who are already here at the school…read on…you might just learn something :)

9am - Classes start for the group courses! Wakey wakey! Don’t worry, Rosanna our work-experience assistant is in reception to greet you with a big smile and to make the morning a bit more bearable!

9.50am - 5 minute break. Time to go to the toilet, get a drink or sign up for the activity of the day!

10:45am - The 30 minute break! After an hour or so of classes, you should have woken up by now! But if you need a caffeine injection and some food to keep the brain cells functioning, this is the perfect time to fuel up! You can get hot and soft drinks as well as a variety of snacks from machines in the school gardens.

If you fancy streching your legs a bit more, you can choose from a number of cafes just outside the school.  My Favourite is Il caffe di Francesco which does great coffees!

11:15am - Classes start again.  You will also have the chance to sign up for the day’s activity as Verena, our other work-experience assistant, passes through the classes with the activity list.

12.05am  - Another 5-minute break.  Time to stretch your legs and get a bit of fresh air!

13:00pm - End of classes for the Intensive course students…1 more hour to go if you have chosen the Super-Intensive programme!

When classes are over, you can stay in the school for as long as you like…until we close at 18:30:)  You can check your emails in the free internet room, have lunch in the garden, or take time to study a bit more in one of the classrooms!

14:00 onwards - Activities!  There is a different activity every day for you to take part in, from Sevillanas dancing to museum visits.  If there is an activity that you would really like us to organise at the school, just let us know and we will try and arrange it :)

If you don’t fancy the school activity of the day, you can check out nearby tourist attractions like the famous Gaudi buildings Casa Batlló or La Pedrera.

18:30pm: School closes.  Time to get some rest in preparation for another busy day tomorrow….or perhaps time to try some new bars??? It’s up to you!

As you can see, it’s a pretty busy day, but a lot of fun too!

    Hi Kate,

Hola! que tal? Que tiempo hace? This is Glecy, from the Philippines. Still remember me? Well, I’m back in Manila about 3 weeks ago but ever since I arrived home, there’s not a single moment in a day that I will not think of my experience in Barcelona, particularly the time I spent in Camino attending classes. I really had a wonderful time there and I miss the people I met at the school, especially you, Verena & Laura for your assistance on my never-ending queries. Also to the teachers - Maria, who’s been so patient with us, Manuel with his passion in teaching Spanish, and Rosa Anita with her amiable character.

Also, I just want to commend you for your excellent posts which really inspire and help me a lot to know more (and love) about Spain. Continue the good work! :)

Please extend my regards to all the staff & teachers in Camino and I hope to visit and see you again someday.

    Adios!
