APOLO

Hola everybody!

As we all know, Barcelona is very big. There are lots of things you can discover in this great city.

Last week I had a chat with Rocio about music. She asked me what kind of music I like. Well, I like different types of music. For example: soul, jazz, funk, techno, oldies, rock and pop. I really like funk when I’m going out, because it’s rhythmic and the melody puts me in a good mood. Rocio also told me that in this disco named Apolo every last Thursday of the month, funk is played by Keb Darge (Dj). He seems to be famous in BCN. I heard of him in the past, so I decided to go there and check it out! Helen (also blogger) joined me and we drank some beers and danced a lot. We had a lot of fun! The people were nice and everybody was dancing like their life depended on that!

Apolo from the inside is very nice. There is a big hall (after the stairs at the enter), 2 bars, and an upstairs area too, but I think that is only opened when there is a concert. A beer costs 4.50 euros.

On Tuesday 13th February Tanya Stephens is performing in Apolo. I would like to go there, because that girl rocks! She had a hit, which is called: It´s a pity. It´s kind of reggae-soul music. Really nice! I think it costs 20euros. So if anybody wants to join me, tell me!

Just a tip: if you want to go to Apolo for free, you should go to this bar named Mau Mau. It´s near apolo in a small street (carrer Fontrodona i believe it´s called). Just cross the street at the Parallel metro station and then you´re  in the street already. From the outside it doesn´t look like a bar, but it is! (it used to be a factory). You have to pay 5 euros to get a membership card and at the bar you get the ticket for Apolo. They also play short movies, so it´s good for your Spanish too!
