Authentic Spanish Restaurants in Barcelona

Hola a todos!

How are you all doing?

I hope you all had fun during Carnaval!

And now, it’s time for Easter and we are supposed to eat a little bit less…but the problem here in Barcelona is that there are too many goods restaurants!!!

Here you can find some of my favourite ones!

If you want to have some very good Catalan “tapas” (appetizers), the “Cerveceria Catalana” is the right place for you!

It is in the corner between Calle Mallorca and Rambla Cataluña, close to the metro stop “Paseo de Gracia”. They serve delicious tapas made with fish, meat or vegetables, like the “escalivada”! And try their “patatas bravas”! They’re the best ones in Barcelona!

But remember to book a table in advance becuase it’s always very crowed and there are always so many people waiting in the line!

Not very far from there, you can find another very good restaurant, called “La Rita“, located in Calle Aragò, at the corner with Pau Claris. The thing that stands out most is the service impeccable, over a high quality of food. They can combine some traditional courses with most innovative elements. They are open at midday too, but I always recommend you to book a table there!

The next restaurant we are going to talk about is actually a chain and it is called “Tasca i Vins”! There is one located in calle ‘Diputación’, near ‘Paseo de Gracia’, another one in ‘Calle Industria’, near ‘Sagrada Familia’, and another one in ‘Avenida Marques de L’Argentera’, near the Barceloneta beach. That’s the perfect place for big groups and to have dinner with your friends! I suggest you to try their menus, which include 1 litre of sangria and you will have a tray with all the best Catalan delicatessen, like the “butifarra de pagés” (a kind of sausage), “tortilla” (scrambled eggs with potatoes), “jamón ibérico” (ham), “queso” (cheese)! And their sizes are really big! But not their prices ;-)

And finally, if you want to try everything in your life, I can tell you that the best place is “El Xalet“, located on the top of the Monjuic hill! That’s one of the best places I’ve ever been in all my life

It’s a revolving restaurant whose floor turns slowly while you are eating and you can see the whole city of Barcelona from above! The atmosphere is really chic and elegant but it’s something that you have to do once in your life! The food is delicious and their service is of very high quality! Besides, there is an outdoors terrace where you can eat on summertime! That’s amazing! And well… if you don’t know where to go on St. Valentine’s day, I think it could be a very nice present for your fiance!

Have a good time!

Stef
