Hip-Hop dance

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

Hi everyone,

Simon has prepared for you a blog about his passion “Hip-hop” dance. It is very interesting!

Hello everybody!!

It’s Simon again and I know you are happy to hear from me :-P ! I would now like to tell you a bit about hip hop…

First of all, I would recommend Hip-Hop lessons to all Camino students!

“Hip-Hop” has many meanings. Indeed Hip Hop can be a singer, a Dj, a dancer etc …

To understand more about Hip Hop I will explain the beginnings of this famous movement …

Once upon a time in 1970 a man had seen lots of pictures in the street and he decided to create the “Block Parties”. Block Parties were very famous and illegal, mostly because they were in the street and caused problems. The real beginning of Hip Hop was in those parties.
And one day, a man called Dj Kool Herc created turntables (instruments for a DJ) to be able to create lots of different songs (at the beginning it was (more…)

Spanish movies

Friday, February 11th, 2011

Hi folks,

I hope you are enjoying these sunny days in Barcelona! If you would like to relax at home watching a Spanish movie, Victoria has some suggestions for you:

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well and having a great time whatever you are up to and whatever country you may be in!

If you are reading this, then it is probably very likely that you either speak Spanish, want to learn Spanish, or are interested in coming to Spain. If this is the case, then I would like to take this opportunity to share one of my passions with you- Spanish and Latin American Cinema. To speak a language is one thing, but to understand its culture on a more profound level is so important, and if you are interested in Hispanic culture then I really recommend you get stuck into some Spanish-speaking films. My personal favourites are: (more…)

Hamburg vs. Barcelona

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

Hi guys,

This time Dörte will present herself, Barcelona and Hamburg ;) ….

Hola chic@s,

I’m Dörte from Germany, more precisely from Hamburg and I’m working as a work placement trainee at Camino since the beginning of January.

I’m very comfortable in Barcelona already. I think it’s easy for me to feel at home because there are many things which are quiet similar between Hamburg and Barcelona:

Both cities have almost two million inhabitants, both are the second largest city of their countries (only the capitals, Berlin and Madrid, are bigger) and both are situated in the north. Moreover, both Hamburg and Barcelona are cool and multicultural ports with all kinds of shops, restaurants, museums, galleries, theatres and other (more…)

Saint Valentine

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

Hi folks,

It’s me or everywhere you go here in Barcelona you see couples…

I would like to write about something that might be of interest to you… February is already here and what is the most famous date during this month? SAINT VALENTINE of course!!

In fact, everybody knows this date. February has always been considered as a romantic month. Couples show their love for their partners, or new couples are formed.

It is possible to experience “love feelings” during this month, like a promise for the printer which is (more…)

Passion about dance?

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

Hi folks,

I hope you are all fine. Our new workplacement Simon will present himself. He really likes to dance…

Hi everybody!!

This is Simon Thouvenel, 20 years old and from France. I am doing an intership of 6 months here in Camino (from January until July) and I hope I will improve my Spanish here :) .

I am a student of the Graduate School of Management of Champagne (the city where we produce Champagne). I am going to study 5 years to have a Master degree of my program INBA (International Network Business and Administration).

Now you know me in the school, but I would like to introduce myself more precisely.

What do I love to do?

I am very fond of (more…)

Come to Barcelona!

Monday, January 24th, 2011

Hi people,

This time is Victoria, our new work-placement from UK, who is going to present herself and give you some reasons why you should choose Barcelona :-)

Hi everyone!

My name is Victoria, and I am one of the new placement students here at Camino. I am currently in my third year of University in Newcastle (in the north of England, for those of you who don´t know- a town known for it´s football team and notoriously crazy night life!) where I am studying Hispanic Studies.

This is my third year abroad, and I have been here in Barcelona since August 2010. I have just finished a term of Erasmus studies at the University of Pompeu Fabra (did you know there are 12 universities in Catalunya?) which was great fun, although with so many foreign students, there was often far too much temptation to speak English!

I am going to be (more…)

On-line classes

Friday, January 21st, 2011

Hi folks,

I hope that you are all enjoying our sunny days in Barcelona! One thing we cannot really complain about here is the weather!!!

Today Victorien, has decided to write a few lines in our blog and I promise this will be helpful for you!!!

Hi all!

This is Victorien again and again… but I promise it will be my last post. After 4 months here at Camino, this is unfortunately my last week :( .

First of all I would like to thank all the Camino Team for their kindness and patience. Throughout these 4 months here, I have really learnt a lot from a professional and social point of view. And obviously, I will miss Barcelona and its wonderful weather. I cannot believe we are in January and it is still possible to have a drink outside a café.

I am also going to miss the super teachers. But well, I will have the opportunity to “see” them again thanks to the new concept of the school. It is now possible to take private classes online (more…)

I am back again, but this time it is definitely the last one! Hope the beginning of the winter weather isn’t getting in your way of exploring this amazing city!! Why not wrap up warm and enjoy the indoor delights that the city has to offer?

I’m sure you have all heard of the amazing Sagrada Familia, it’s quite hard not to know about in the city, with pictures adorning the walls of many cafés, restaurants and shops. I have no doubt you all know the stories of its creation and how the amazing work still has many years to go before it is finally finished.
