Carnaval in Sitges

CaRnAvAl!!!

Last weekend I went to Sitges with some friends to celebrate carnaval! It really was ‘la mar de divertido!’

We got there with the last train from estacio Sants. It’s about half an hour by train to get there. In the train everybody was drinking and singing. In Holland people celebrate carnival as well, so we introduced the Spanish people in the train some Dutch carnival songs!

We arrived in Sitges about 00.30. Sitges is well known as a gaydistrict. So when we walked to Sitges ‘downtown’ we saw a lot of amazing extraordinary persons and outfits. I think that about 50% of all people on the street were males dressed as women. Wigs, skirts, heals, lots of make up, nailpolish, they had it all! I think all people out there proved that they know the best how to celebrate carnival! (more…)

APOLO

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

Hola everybody!

As we all know, Barcelona is very big. There are lots of things you can discover in this great city.

Last week I had a chat with Rocio about music. She asked me what kind of music I like. Well, I like different types of music. For example: soul, jazz, funk, techno, oldies, rock and pop. I really like funk when I’m going out, because it’s rhythmic and the melody puts me in a good mood. Rocio also told me that in this disco named Apolo every last Thursday of the month, funk is played by Keb Darge (Dj). He seems to be famous in BCN. I heard of him in the past, so I decided to go there and check it out! Helen (also blogger) joined me and we drank some beers and danced a lot. We had a lot of fun! The people were nice and everybody was dancing like their life depended on that!

Apolo from the inside is very nice. There is a big hall (after the stairs at the enter), 2 bars, and an upstairs area too, but I think that is only opened when there is a concert. A beer costs 4.50 euros. (more…)
