El Palau de la musica catalana

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Hi there!

How are you? Enjoying your time in Barcelona? I guess yes!
Cassandra who is a great dancer decided to write a blog about “El palau de la musica catalana” where amazing dance and musical shows take place.

Cass, it’s up to you!

The Art of Performance

As a dancer, I always enjoy visiting the different theatres and performance spaces in different cities.

cassandra baileComing from New York, (one of the dance capitals of the United States and home to the best Broadway shows), I have either been a
part of or have attended many performances in my lifetime. From this experience, I can confidently say that there is some truth behind the fact that the theatre itself has the ability to enhance or in some cases, diminish the performance quality of a show. For example, Radio City Music Hall in New York holds much historical significance for the city and its beautifully designed theatre can leave an audience member awestruck upon entering.
Though many of New York’s theatres are impressive, they’re impressive in a much different manner from those of Barcelona.

Cassandra’s recommendations to have a drink in Barcelona

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

Hey,

How are you? Enjoying the mild Autumn days in Barcelona?

Today Cassandra decided to write a blog about Drinking and Dining in nice old places with history. If you already live in Barcelona, you will probably know that there are loads of places like that: Cafés, restaurants, tapas bars etc. If you are a student of our school, you might have discovered them through our Historical Bar Crawl. Our next route will be published shortly in our School Blog.

So Cassandra, the blog is all yours!

“Drinking and Dining in Antiquity”

It always strikes me how many coffee and pastry shops there are in Barcelona!

Cassandra’s suggestions to know more about Spanish Culture

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Dear all,

It has been more than a week already that Cassandra has started working with us, and she has become more and more active in our department! Today she has decided to present the new format of one of our courses: Our Super Intensive Course and its cultural workshop. Cassandra, the blog is all yours!

Hello again all!

As a study-abroad student in Spain like the rest of you, one of the main reasons I came here was to improve my Spanish; however, it would be a shame not to experience Spain’s culture while doing so. After all, the city of Barcelona has so much to offer between its art, cuisine, history, and who could forget its futbol team!

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

Good afternoon everybody!

I hope that you are all fine and enjoying fully these very sunny days to go to the beach… Lucky you! Adrienne

My blog today will be a little bit different as I will not speak about the millions of things you can do in the city when it is so warm but will simply give you the comments (and impressions) of a student who knows our school probably as much as we do as she stayed 28 weeks!!! During all this time not only has she attended our Intensive Course, but she has also participated in our DELE Preparation Course and our Business Spanish Course. Waow…

Her name is Adrienne and to give you an idea of how much she has learned while being in Barcelona, Adrienne arrived with some little knowledge of Spanish and left Camino Barcelona with a very fluent Spanish speaking about Politics, Economics, Cinema etc. etc. etc.

Adrienne, it is your turn!

“Hi!

After nearly half a year at Camino Barcelona, I would like to say that it’s the perfect place to make progresses quickly and of course also “disfrutar” (enjoy ;) Barcelona, meet friends and go out. (more…)
