Hoy estoy especialmente contenta porque…¡Ya tengo mi entrada para el PRIMAVERA SOUND! Este festival de música tiene lugar en el recinto del Fórum (justo después de la última playa en Barcelona) todos los años en Mayo-Junio. A ver, os lo recomiendo especialmente a aquellos que os guste la música alternativa y queráis conocer también a nuevos grupos.
Today I am especially happy because… I got my ticket for PRIMAVERA SOUND! This music festival takes place in the Barcelona Forum (just after the last beach in Barcelona city) every year around May-June. I strongly recommend it for those of you who like alternative music and you like getting to know new groups in the scene.
Este año veremos por ejemplo a The Smashing Pumpkins, Wilco, Patti Smith, Maximo Park, y a mi grupo favorito español, ¡Los Planetas! La entrada cuesta 85 euros para 3 días. Yo llevo yendo 8 años al festival, y siempre me lo he pasado genial.
This year we’ll see, for example, The Smashing Pumkins, Wilco, Patti Smith, Maximo Park, and my favourite Spanish group, Los Planetas! The 3-day-ticket costs 85 euros. I have been going to this festival for 8 years now, and I have always had a great time.
Barcelona tiene cada año más festivales de música de todo tipo para todos los gustos. Podéis elegir entre grandes o pequeños festivales. Este fin de semana, por ejemplo, voy al Mini-Pop Festival, en una pequeña sala en la zona de Nou Barris. Y como éste hay muchísimos más durante todo el año.
Barcelona has more and more music festivals each year. You can choose between the big and the small ones. This weekend, for example, I am going to the Mini-Pop Festival, in a small concert place in Nou Barris area. And you have many more like this all year round!
En cuanto a grandes festivales internacionales en Barcelona, aparte del Primavera Sound, hay otros tres que no puedes perderte, o ¡por lo menos elige uno! Son el Sónar, imprescindible para los que os guste la música electrónica, el Summercase, para música un poco más comercial, y el Primavera Club, en diciembre.
When talking about big international festivals in Barcelona, apart from Primavera Sound, there are other 3 that you can’t miss, at least try to choose one! They are Sónar Festival, for those who like dance and electronic music, Summercase Festival, for more popular music, and Primavera Club festival, in December.
El Sónar se celebra en el Raval, en pleno centro de Barcelona, en Junio, y convierte las pequeñas plazas de la zona en pistas de baile improvisadas. El centro de la ciudad se convierte en una discoteca esos días.
Sónar Festival takes place in the middle of the city centre in Barcelona, in the Raval area (I bet you already know it!) in June. The whole city centre becomes a huge club those days, and all the little squares in the Raval become improvised dance floors!
¡Creo que el Summercase este año va a ser el mejor! Será el 13 y 14 de julio, y ya están confirmados algunos grupos: Air, The Chemical Brothers, The Flaming Lips, LCD Soundsystem, Kaiser Chiefs, PJ Harvey…y más. ¿Te lo vas a perder?
I think Summercase will be the BIG one this year! It will be on 13th and 14th July and there are some groups already confirmed: Air, The Chemical Brothers, The Flaming Lips, LCD Soundsystem, Kaiser Chiefs, PJ Harvey… and many more. Are you really gonna miss it?
Además, el recinto del Fórum, donde se celebran la mayoría de los festivales es enorme, y super bien organizado, ¡con baños y barras para todos!, que es siempre lo más conflictivo en un festival.
Besides, the Forum, where most festivals take place, is huge, and very well organised, with toilets and bars for everyone!, which is the most conflictive normally in a festival.
