Today I want to write about a subject that is very important in the summer: the beaches in Barcelona. Now that the sun is shining and it ’smells of summer’, so you all can go to the beach after school, and we know you do!

Like you all probably know, in Barcelona there are a lot of beaches. The most popular and central is ‘playa Barceloneta’.

Barceloneta is a very attractive beach for tourists. It is close to the city centre and easy to reach walking or by public transport. The beach is pretty big, and there are always a lot of people. It is very near the metro stop ´Barceloneta´ and ´Ciutadella Vila Olimpica´ (Yellow line). 
There are a lot of people offering  drinks, snacks, massages, tattoos etc. But watch out: the things they sell are a lot more expensive than in a store!

Also you will find plenty of nice terraces near the beach, like Agua, Carpe Diem, Opium, Shoko or Ice Bar. During daytime you can relax in their very nice terraces, but some have also a ´lounge part´ to cool down. They normally offer food as well, so you can eat paella, tapas or just a pasta with a nice view over the beach and the people walking by.

But if you want to stay for longer or go at night, that is ok. Shoko, Opium and Carpe Diem are very nice clubs where you can dance all night long. It is also possible to stay at the terrace. Very nice, trust me.

If you walk further in the direction of ’Puerto Olímpico’ you will find also a lot of bars and terraces where you can eat. You have a pretty nice view over the harbour from there.

This ’Puerto Olímpico’ beach is beautiful and the sand looks like gold. There are a few beach bars (chiringuitos) where you can get your drinks to take it to your spot at the beach. These bars also play music, so a lot of young people lay around them. It is like going out at the beach but dancing with your beach suit
