Barcelona: Salsa city!

Hi everyone!

Last weekend I had one of the BEST nights out in AGES and felt I had to share it with you all!!!

I went with some friends to a Salsa bar called Mojito and it was fantastic!  Now normally I would do anything to avoid such a situation - I have a terrible case of 2 left feet and no rythm; the thought of all those toned Salsa kings and queens usually brings me out in a sweat!  But all my friends were going and I really had no choice.

Well, as it turned out, I didn’t have to worry at all- there were plenty of other amateurs like me and the atmosphere was really friendly.  The music was incredible too - a live band churning out up-beat latin tunes all night.  But best of all, it was free to get in before 1 am - all in all a great night!

Another big Salsa club to look out for is Antilla.  They also have club nights, live concerts and a dance school where you can take group or private classes.  This Thursday they have a live Salsa-Mambo concert - why not check it out?

There is actually a really good Salsa scene in Barcelona - bars, clubs, schools, you name it!  You can find a list of some of the best places in town here: http://www.salsapower.com/cities/barcelona.htm

So, if you have not yet tried Salsa dancing, YOU SHOULD!  It’s loads of fun and a great way to meet people!

If you try out any of these places, let us know what you think!
