Our Staff at Camino-Part 2: Anja’s recommendations
Good afternoon everydody!
Today I am most delighted to introduce you to another member of our team. Her name is Anja, she comes from Germany and she has been working with us for quite a long time already. If you are in the school, I am sure you must have met with her as she is always very keen on helping you all.
Anja is not going to introduce herself. She decided she would rather give you a helpful tip to enjoy your summer evenings in Barcelona.
“Good afternoon everybody!
I hope you are all fine and enjoying the nice summer in Barcelona.
If you still don’t know what you will be doing in Barcelona the next few weeks, and if you like open-air activities, I have a good option for you:
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and thanks to Sala Montjuic, 2500 people can watch different movies under the starry sky. (Hmmm… romantic…. )
I checked their
These movies will be projected to a giant-size screen.
The very nice thing about Sala Montjuic is you can watch films in 35mm while eating and drinking whatever you found in your fridge and whatever your friends brought. Check the photographs, it is great for big picnic!!! And if you do not like your friends’ food, a snack-bar will save you
(They have got delicious ice-creams!).
For people who like their own comfort and prefer lie on a deckchair (versus sitting on a “tough” grass), I also have a tip for you: Sala Montjuic also offers a deckchair rental area. It costs 3 euros but beware… You MUST arrive on time as it is very requested!!!
Your entrance at Sala Montjuic does not only include the entrance to watch a good quality movie. It also includes a nice concert which is always scheduled right before the screening. (Perfect to get in the right mood!!!). Every year various bands “warm up” the public with jazz, swing, chill-out , Spanish rumba, flamenco or country music! ¡Ole!
Another great point about Sala Montjuic: All the films they screen are in original version! (Which is quite rare in Barcelona!!!) This is probably the reason why they attract not only the locals but also all the Tourists and foreign people from USA, France, Germany, Sweden. Original Version is also a great way to learn Spanish!
Last but not least…. You might wonder how you will be able to get there!? Don’t worry. A special bus service is provided for all of you who don’t have a car. You can take this bus at Plaza España Towers between 20:30 to 21:30. This service is also available to get back to Plaza Espanya-
So you can see how easy it is to escape from the busy Ramblas and the sweltering heat in your living room!!!!
Tickets can be bought on site from 20:30 on the day of the screening or if you prefer to buy them in advance, there are 500 tickets available at Servicaixa.
And finally, if you are too lazy to go to Montjuic but still would be interested in going to an open-air movie session, don’t forget that our Summer Activity Programme includes weekly open-air movies. It takes place every Tuesday at 21.30 on our terrace. Join this activity! You will not regret it.
I hope this recommendation was helpful to you!
See you soon!
Anja”
