The easiest way to discover Barcelona

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Hello everybody,

How are you? Since spring is comming to town, I just thought about all these lovely things you could do here in Barcelona. So let me start with one of the most popular things to do for people coming to BCN!

The Barcelona Bus Touristic is one of the easiest ways to get to know Barcelona. The bus touristic enables you to know Barcelona by a two floor bus (a roofless double-decker, your first opportunity to get a tan!), with three different routes. With a single ticket you can get on or off the bus as many times as you want. You’ll only need one ticket for all routes. Some of the stops are common to other routes which makes it quite easy to change.

The Northern route and the Southern Route are approx. two hours long, while the Forum route is 40 minutes long. The Forum route runs only during summer season! (more…)

Football in Barcelona - Spanish Cup!

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

As Daniel has already told you, this week on Thursday 31st January, we will go to the Barcelona Football Club Stadium - ‘Nou Camp’ to watch the football match for the “Spanish Cup” quarter finals between Barça and Villareal!!!

As many of you probably know, it seems that Barça is not going to win the Liga (Spanish Premier League) this year. Some people say it is because of their irregular game and all the physical problems that some of its players, like Ronaldinho or Deco, had. And as the Champions League is also “travelling” to other countries Barça should better think about winning at least the Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup)!!! (more…)

Sitges’ Carnival!

Monday, January 28th, 2008

Hello everybody!

If you are thinking about coming to Barcelona within the next 2 weeks, I’m happy to tell you that Carnival celebrations are coming here and they are expected to be as spectacular as ever!

As many of you probably know, I’m from Venice and our Carnival is maybe one of the most famous ones all around the world! People usually start to prepare their own costumes and masks the year before, just after the Carnival, in order to be ready for it!

However, also here in Spain there will be such big celebrations and one of the best places to go is Sitges! This city, located near Barcelona, besides being famous for its wonderful beaches, is also well-known fro its unique Carnival, the second one in Spain in terms of dimensions and parties, after Tenerife! Cinema in Original Version vs Dubbed

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Hey everybody,

I hope everything is going fine for you!

If you are a movie fan, here is the big question that you might have asked yourself several times:

Is it better to watch a film dubbed or in its original version?

I am asking you this because a few days ago I had a long debate about this subject with some friends (who are all movie fans) and I realised that the answer was not so obvious:

Some people prefer seeing the films dubbed (mainly because the dubbing is very good in Spain and also because they say they cannot concentrate on both the sub-titles and the action) and other people will never watch a good film if it is not in original version.

I myself clearly belong to the second group (even though I am aware of the fact that my view point is very debatable). I will try to explain why: (more…)

Great music: the musical “Mamma mia” comes to Barcelona!

Monday, January 21st, 2008

Hello everybody!

If you like musicals and if you like the music of the 1970s-1980s this is the best opportunity for you!

In Barcelona, the musical “Mamma mia!” will be on stage until the beginning of March 2008 at the “Teatro Musical” in the Sants-Montjuic district!

I saw this musical 5 years ago in the city of San Francisco (USA) and I can just tell you that I didn’t stop dancing for a second! You can’t miss it!

The project of this musical was created by two former members of the musical group Abba, whose songs like “Mamma mia”, “Dancing queen”, “Gimme gimme” spreaded out during the 1970s-1980s. And you can find all these super hits here! (more…)
