Tuesday 09th November 2010
Do you know the exact time when the Spaniards eat at home, in restaurants or with their friends? This and many important things about meal time you will know in our workshop.

Wednesday 10th November 2010
Today we will go and see a Photojournalism Exhibition which gives the opportunity to see the social, political, cultural and sport-related events from the last year through the eyes of the current best photojournalists which is hold in the Centre for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona. Fiesta BLANK in City Hall this Friday!!!

This time is Becky’s turn to suggest what to do in Barcelona:

Hi again everyone!

I am back for one final time, as next week is my last week here at Camino, to tell you about a brand new event that is coming to Barcelona this weekend!!

I have had a great time over the past four months and want to leave with a BANG! I think I have found the perfect thing to end my time in this amazing city!!

Something very special will start this Friday in City Hall. Forget club nights as you know them, BLANK is coming to Barcelona!!

BLANK is not like anything you have seen before, it’s a mix of artists doing exactly what they want to do. Artists from all over Spain are invited to take to the stage and present their work as they want it to be presented through electro dance music. (more…)

Mi vida en Barcelona!

Hi everyboy,

Today I’m going to introduce one of our new team member: Alex from UK and she is doing a work placement with us:

Hi everybody, my name’s Alex and I’m one of the lucky work experience students who gets to experience life in Barcelona whilst working for Camino.

I’ve been here 3 months so far and have had a brilliant time! It’s been great meeting all of our students this summer and really interesting to meet so many people from such a wide range of different cultures. Not only have the students been lovely but I’m sure you’ll find as I have, that all of the teachers and staff here at Camino are fantastic, and there is always someone ready and willing to give you a hand.

When I’m not at work I’ve been busy exploring the sights that this beautiful city has to offer- taking a few tips from
the activities that the school offers everyday so that I always know the best places to go. (more…)

Hi folks!

Once again and with great pleasure I am going to introduce one of our new team members. Her name is Simona and she is doing a work placement with us:


Hi everybody,

My name is Simona and I’m doing an intership here at Camino Barcelona. I studied Social and Cultural Anthropology at University in the Czech Republic and I wanted to benefit from practical experience abroad. When I was thinking about where to go I remembered that I spent a half year in Granada and I loved it. So I decided to go to Spain again. I chose Barcelona because it is an international city where there are lots of work opportunities and you can find a mixture of cultures.

Today I would like to focus on the Catalan celebration of All Saints on 31st October. This “fiesta” is called Castañada and immediately you will find out why. It has a very nice background to it which I will tell you about now. (more…)

La Mercé 2010!!!

Hi everybody,

Summer is officially over :( but autumn is starting with one of the biggest event in Barcelona: the day of ‘LA MERCÉ’ which barcelonian celebrate with pleasure every year. As many of you probably know the fiesta of La Mercé in on the 24th of September in honour to the Virgin Mercé, the Patron–Saint of the city. This festival officially begun in 1921 but the story tells that its origin came from the thirteen century.

But I don’t want to tell you old stories. I want to invite you to a spectacular party!!!

The festival of ‘La Mercé’ takes place in various public places and the best thing is that it is totally for FREE :D

This year ‘La Mercé’ begins on Thursday 23rd September and lasts (more…)

As gastronomy is considered an important part of Spanish culture, today we are going to discuss some of the popular dishes which are frequently prepared in Catalonia and the rest of Spain. It will be a good way to learn a variety of verbs and food vocabulary whilst finding out what delights are on offer to try during your visit! (more…)

Monday 30th August 2010
Today we will welcome all of our new students with our weekly Welcome Drink in the bar 37° which is near to the school! It will be the perfect opportunity to get to know everybody here at the school!

Tuesday 31st August 2010
Today we are going to take a walk through the historic sights of Barcelona. We will see Els 4 Gats, where Picasso used to hang out along with many other interesting places.

Wednesday 1st September 2010
Today we will visit Parc Guell. One of Gaudi’s many creations. Come with us to take a walk through this magical park.

Thursday 2nd September
Tonight we are going to visit the Ice Bar. Undoubtedly one of the cities coolest night spots, make sure you wear something warm, the average temperature inside is -13ºC.

Friday 3rd September
To finish off a busy week in the city, we are going to relax with a film. We will watch Volver by Pedro Almódovar.

We will have fun!
