How are you all?? Waiting for the weekend to begin??
Most of you might have seen me working in the school before, but as this is my first blog I write, I’d first like to introduce myself to you: I’m Isabell from Germany and I’m doing an Internship here at Camino for almost four months now. I was living in Spain a few years ago and I always wanted to come back!! So now I’m here, enjoying this unique experience at Camino :D …..this is a great opportunity for me and I really love working here!!
Today finally I’ve got time to write my first blog. Thinking about the subject of my blog there suddenly came a theme to my mind, which is pretty relevant for all of you guys coming to Barcelona for a period of time: “Where should I stay here in Barcelona?”. Well, due to my own experience I can tell you that it’s not as easy as it seems to find a room in Barcelona. Although there are a lot of people offering rooms here, actually it’s quite difficult to find one reasonable in price, clean, well located and with nice roommates!!
For this reason I decided to tell you a little bit about the different accomodation options Camino is offering to you here in Barcelona: As you already might know, we offer different kinds of accomodation, which you can all check up on our web site. Though there are a lot of questions reaching us referring to accomodation in Barcelona, whether by E-mail or directly at the schools reception desk. So here you’ve got my answers to the most common questions…..here they are:
Can you arrange me a room in your Superior Student Residence/ Superior Student Appartment even if I’m not attending classes??
Yes we can, even if you’re not having Spanish classes with us, subject to availability. Our Superior Student Residence and our Superior Student Appartements are located in the centre of Barcelona, in one of my prefered “barrios” in Barcelona: L’Eixample. In this district you’ll find a lot of places to go out to have dinner or having some drinks, to go shopping etc….you’ll love it. There is also news that i’d like to announce to you: Camino is moving!!! From 22nd December on there will be classes held in the same building like our Superior Student Residence- so you’ve got your accommodation stay on-site, which is unique in Barcelona-but watch out: then there won’t be any excuses to come late to class;-).
Can I stay longer at my host familiy/in my appartment than my course lasts and can you even arrange me a stay at a host family even if I’m not attending classes?
That’s absolutely no problem!! Actually staying at one of our carefully selected Spanish host families is the best way to improve your Spanish and getting to know the Way of Life of spaniards!! Moreover: have you ever thought about spending Christmas or New Year’s Eve here in Barcelona in one of our host families?? So, now you’ve got the chance to do this: Just spend the Christmas holidays with your host family and get to know the habits and customs of the spaniards on Christmas. Like Genta told you before on her blog, Barcelona is converting itself into a magical city on Christmas and also spending New Year’s Eve here will be an outstanding experience, so come and enjoy it!!!
What about visits from my friends and family?? Where should they stay while they are here?
Many of you guys are expecting visits from your family and friends while you are here and there is always the same question arising: “Where should they stay while they are here?”- so why not choose the easiest way: share your room in our Superior Student Residence with them or even rent the whole Superior Shared Appartment for you all! You could also stay there with your friends after finishing your Spanish course and relax for a few extra days. There is so much to see and to explore in this great city, so just stay a little bit longer and don’t miss it!!
Please note that the above accommodation options are always subject to availability. Ask us for further information!
Wish you alle a nice weekend and see you on the next blog!!
Hasta muy pronto!
