Si no sabes muy bien qué hacer en el largo fín de semana de Semana Santa, te puedo recomendar diferentes lugares en España para visitar y ver diferentes formas de interpretar la pasión de Cristo. / If you do not know very well what to do this long Easter weekend, I can recommend you different places in Spain to visit and observe the different ways we have to interpretate the Passion of Christ.
España, país de larga tradición católica, celebra la Semana Santa de manera muy diferente a otros paises de Europa. / Spain, country of a long catholic tradition, celebrates Easter in a very diferent way to other countries in Europe.
Se celebra de una manera u otra, en casi todas las ciudades de España pero puedo destacar como más interesantes a las siguientes ciudades:/ It is celebrated in a way or in another in all the nation, however I can point out some cities where Easter is celebrated in a very interesting way:

En Castilla la Mancha destaca la Semana Santa de Toledo./ In Castilla La Mancha, the best known is Toledo.
La Semana Santa aquí se celebra desde el Domingo de Ramos hasta el Domingo de Resurección./Easter takes place from this coming Sunday to Easter Sunday.
Cada tarde diferentes iglesias de la ciudad pasean por las calles a las imágenes de Jesucristo y su madre María, representando diferentes momentos de la Pasión./ Each afternoon different churches of the city, take their images of Jesus and his mother Mary out in the streets, representing different moments of the Passion.
Las calles se llenan de gente para ver estos pasos, todo huele a flores e incienso. / The streets are full of people to watch these “pasos”, everything smells of flowers and inciense.
Me encanta pasear en la noche del viernes santo y escuchar el silencio de los nazarenos rezando./ I love walking during the night of Good Friday and to hear the silence of the “nazarenos” praying.
En Teruel (Aragón), cientos de hombres y mujeres participan en Calanda con una tamborrada que desde la medianoche del viernes se prolonga sin descanso hasta la mañana del sábado santo./ In Teruel (Aragón), hundreds of men and women participate in a Calanda in a kind of drum festival, they play a special drum along the streets of the city from the evening of Good Friday to the morning of Saturday.
En algunas ciudades de Cataluña hay representaciones de la Pasión, en las que ciudadanos participan como actores./ In Cataluña there are some Passion acts, in which the normal people participate as actors.
Una de las más importantes es la de Esparraguera (Barcelona), en la que toman parte setecientas personas que representan una obra del siglo XVI./ One of the most important acts takes place in Esparraguera (Barcelona) where more than 700 people act in a XVII century play.
En Gerona se baila la Danza de la Muerte, un mimo en el que dos adultos y tres niños disfrazados de esqueletos marchan por las calles precedidas por el son de un tambor./In Gerona (near Barcelona) it is very famous the Death Dance in which two adults and three children dressed as skeletons walk along the streets followed by the sound of a drum.
Y si después de tantos eventos tienes hambre, tienes que probar dulces típicos de Semana Santa como las torrijas y las famosas monas de pascua./ And after so many events, you feel hungry, try some of our typical Easter cakes, “torrijas” (fried bread with sweet wine, milk, sugar and cinamon) or the “Monas de Pascua” (Chocolate figures with a surprise inside).
