Euro Footbal Cup 2008 - Who will win?
Hello everyone
European Championship 2008 will start this Saturday and I’m so excited. I love football and especially when it is a competition between countries.
From today we will start a Euro 2008 blog (category Sports), where we will inform you about everything that will happen during the tournament, the qualifiers to the quarters, semis or final, and gossips about the football players and general information about the championship… You can also participate with your comments
Greece won surprisingly the Euro 2004 in Portugal. This year seems very difficult to predict which country might be the winner. Probably Italy since they won the World championship two years ago and they are in a very good form, but Germany (has won 3 times), Spain and Holland are not bad either and I classify them as probable winners. Other countries like Sweden, Romania and Croatia maybe the ‘dark horses’ of this year’s tournament. Kind of a shock this year that England did not made to qualify for the tournament, the country that created football

So the tournament starts on 7th June until 29th and this year there will be two host countries Switzerland and Austria. The final will hold place in Vienna, in Ernst Happel stadium.
The new European Championship trophy is 18cm higher and 2kg heavier than the original designed by Arthus Bertrand in 1960 and named after Henri Delaunay, the former president of the French Football Federation.
The ball is very modern this year, a white base colour with black dots. The national flags of both countries are integrated into the ball design. There are strict rules for the ball; the weight must be between 410 and 450 g. and the circumference 68-70 cm.
Below you can find all the Groups and the specific countries in each:

Wow Genta, you got 3 out of 4 bets correctly! but I can’t believe that the one you got wrong was actually Turkey Vs. Portugal. Everybody says that Portugal is one of the favourite teams to win this EuroCup!
And today is Spain’s turn! what do you think? a close result or a clear and unmistakable victory for Spain? I say 2-1 for Spain.
