Grease in Barcelona!

How are you? I hope you’re doing fine… As I’m quite interested in theatres, I would like to tell you something about my favourite musical: GREASE!!! 
I really love musicals and I’ve seen Grease in English and German speech, so I have decided to go to Victoria Theatre on 28th December to experience it in Spanish!
The musical will be staged here in Barcelona until the 18th March 2008 at the Victoria Theatre, Av. Paral lel, 67. Grease is a musical by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. The stage version of the musical features all famous songs from the film and many more. Grease was originally staged at the New London Theatre in the 1970’s. Later on the show was made into a movie that was released in 1978 – with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. The movie version was quite different to the original version and included a number of new songs. In 1979, another stage version of Grease was produced which, included the songs from the film. I was much more impressed by the stage version because of the songs, the performance of the actors and of the live music.
The story is really interesting: Sandy and Danny spend a summer in love, but they think they will never meet again. That is until Sandy unexpectedly joins Danny’s high school to find out that he is not exactly how she remembers him.
If you like music of the 50’s (Rock and Roll), you have to go to this musical! It’s a visit worth! Normally special prices are offered for students or groups. There are also great bars around the theatre, which I like very much, and the theatre is situated near the quarter of Raval. So, afterwards you can take some drinks with your friends around this quarter. You can find a bar in every corner of Raval. Hey if you are such a great fan have you ever tried singing the songs yourself? Many many years ago my dance group did it´s own version of the musical, but without singing. Nethertheless the music remains in your head for days afterwards.
And thanks to you I have the chorus ” tell me more tell me more…” stuck in my mind. Any idea how to get rid of it?

I am going to see Grease on Wednesday. I can’t wait!!! And the next one will be probably Cabaret or Mamma Mia. That’s what I love about Barcelona there’s always such a wide choice of musicals, plays, concerts and events!
