My new experience in Barcelona!

¡Hola!

My name is Stefania and I was born in Venice, Italy.

I graduated in 2004 at the University of Venice, where I studied Modern Languages and Literature, then I moved to Bologna, where I finished my Master in Linguistics and Compared Literatures last month.

During my years at Univeristy, I traveled a lot, basically to improve my knowledge and to learn new languages. I spent 3 years in the United States and then I  moved to Spain. The first time I came to Barcelona was in 2004 for a short vacation, but I immediately fell in love with this amazing city.

Then I came back in 2005, to attend a DELE course and later at the beginning of 2007 to write my dissertation about the history of the Spanish language in South America. It was during that period that I decided to spend more time here (Italians always come back to Barcelona :-) ) and I found out about this internship here at “Camino Barcelona”!!  Actually, I still don’t know how many months I will spend here, because I’d like to take a PHD here…But I hope I could stay as long as possible…I definitely love this city!!!

Barcelona is located in a very priviledged area, on the Spanish coast, so the weather is always pretty good, both in winter and summer. Besides, it’s not only a touristic place ,but also a wonderful artistic city. Barcelona is the city of Antoni Gaudi, Joan Miro and Salvador Dali.  The majority of the monuments of the city, like the Park Guell , the Sagrada Familia, the Casa Battlo or the Pedrera, were designed by Antoni Gaudi and you can see some of them just walking up and down Passeig de Gracia.
Some of the most typical “barrios” (neighborhoods) are located in the city center, like the Gothic “barrio”, or Gracia. There, you can find many restaurants, bars and cubs, even if some of the coolest ones are located in Barceloneta, Poble Nou or Zona Universitaria.
But don’t worry about distances! The city is very well connected: there are 5 metro lines, buses, night buses…and also taxis..and they’re not expensive!! And last but not least, the food! You can have fruit, vegetables, fish, meat…everything is sooo deliciousAnd if you want to see what the food is like here, have a walk around the Boqueria Market…it’s amazing!!
Here @ CAMINO BARCELONA you’ll have the chance to meet a lot of people from all over the world and to learn a lot of interesting things in the wonderful and amazing city of Barcelona!!

¡Hasta luego!

Stefania

    Hi Stefania!
Like you, I love travelling and I’ve lived abroad three times now. I’ve read you lived in the States, it’s my dream since I was a kid, I’d love to move there for a few years but I have no idea how to find a job from Europe. Can I ask you what you were doing there?
    Thanks!
    Anna

Here is a 360 panorama taken from the top of the Temple de la Sagrada Familia. You get a really impressive view of the city from up there. It is one of many I took while visiting that are shown on PanoramicEarth.com

    Hi Peter!!!
Thanx a lot for the information!!
I think that the Sagrada Familia is 1 of the most impressive monuments I have seen (after the “Crazy Horse Memorial” in South Dakota)…but there’s only 1 problem: I cant go to the top of it ‘cuz I’m afraid of heights!!!! :-)
