My ‘routine’ in Barcelona

My aim was to keep my blog updated every 2 weeks or so. To be honest I have slightly lost track of time and find it hard to believe I am just about to start my 6th week, so I am half way through my time here.
I had a bit of a shocker last week and failed my first exam! That is the price you pay for spending a bit too much time enjoying the vino tinto. I have now pulled my finger out a bit and have started to get stuck into the language, as soon as you have the basics it is amazing how quickly it all starts to fall into place.

I have now unfortunately found out the worst thing about coming away – saying goodbye to the great friends you meet. In fact it has been a really hard week for me, as my two flat mates, Violet and Guillaume (see picture) have both now left and I am living alone for a week! It is a horrible feeling, it is amazing how close you get after 6 weeks. I guess I am more concerned about what I will eat now the master chef Guillaume has left!

Last weekend I jumped on a plane and made a flying visit home to London – I saw my friends, had supper with my girlfriend and went to the Chelsea game – My return flight only cost 50 euros. Barcelona really is the perfect base for anyone who wants to see more of Europe, as it is so central.

I have been on some great excursions with the school. The history museum was really interesting and is preserved under the current city, so it is possible to wander the streets of ancient Barcelona 10 meters below the modern streets. Unfortunately cameras are not allowed down there so I cant show you!

We had a great night last Wednesday – the school arranged a great tapas restaurant, then a bar then a club (city hall) for about 20 of us. The food and sangria flowed, it was a great night, which continued to the early hours – half the school was missing on Thursday (so I was told)! Have a look at the picture of Jordi - our responsible school director - At the bar before the club!
Until next time…

Harry

Ja ja, gracias Harry, ¡me encanta la foto!
Your ‘responsible’ director was at the school next day, on time, can you say the same ;-) ?

Don´t you know the saying “if you can party you can also work!”? I also had to do that often enough. Get to bed at four a.m. and have a full working day the next morning.
    Well enjoy your time.
