Public Libraries in Barcelona

Hola a todos!

Today I am going to talk to you about something that’s not so amazing, but very useful for all the students studying in Barcelona.

Based on my personal experience as a university student here in Barcelona, I can tell you that there are so many libraries where you can study, consult books, borrow music or read specific magazines!

Basically, I used to spend most of my time at the Univeristy libraries but I discovered that you can easily get a card in any of the public city libraries instantly! With this card you can check on internet the books you want and reserve them to borrwo, surf the web on the wi-fi area, read magazines in the confortable ‘reading area’ …

The main library is the “Biblioteca General de Barcelona“, located in Plaza Sant Jaume, in the heart of the Gothic district, open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Also in the Gothic district, you can find “La Fraternitat de Barcelona”, in Calle Compte de Santa Clara, 8-10.

Some of the most centric ones are the “Joan Miró”, located in Calle Vilamarí 61, in the Eixample district, the “Sofia Barat Library”, in Calle Girona 64-68, and the “Vila de Grácia” in Calle Torrent de l’Olla 104, in the bohemian district of Grácia.

However, in the official web site of the city of Barcelona you can get all the information you need about the nearest library! There are plenty all around the city, sure you have one close to where you live.

Hasta pronto and enjoy the reading!
