The Barcelona Jazz Orchestra at the Apolo Concert Hall - This Sunday!

If you like Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Amstrong, Frank Sinatra, Count Basie, Duke Ellington and any kind of music which has “swing” you might be interested in this information:
On Sunday 30th of December, the “Barcelona Jazz Orchestra”, one of the most prestigious big bands in the city will perform in the very charismatic Apolo Concert Hall. Don’t miss it! It is a great apportunity to hear good Jazz in a perfect place!
For those who have not heard of them, the Barcelona Jazz Orchestra was created in 1996, in the “Taller de Músics” (the lucky students who went to our “Jazz Si” activity last week already know some of the musicians of this workshop!) and has given over 150 concerts throughout Catalonia and all over Spain during the period up to the year 2000.
No wonder why they have this great capacity of electrifying the atmosphere!!!!
The very interesting about their performance at the Apolo room is that they don’t only attract the jazz lovers of the city of all ages and origins but also a hundred dancers of the Barcelona Swing Association in Barcelona.
So … If you like partner dancing (or just want to burn up all those Christmas calories…) that is definitely your opportunity to try a few steps and become the king (or queen!) of the ball… And apart from this, believe me going to one of those performances makes you feel in one of the dance halls of the golden age of Swing. It is really MAGIC, almost surreal, like travelling in a time machine!!!

Doors open at 19h00 and the concert starts at 20h00.
And finally, if you cannot go this coming Sunday but would still be interested in seeing one of those performances, I have some good news for you: The Barcelona Swing Orchestra will be playing every last Sunday of the month at the Apolo Room!

So did you have a good swing? I hust haven´t got any time left to go out, I am heading home soon. But enjoy everything while you can.

To be honest with you… in the end I did not go to the concert. Just typical!!! I hope I will not miss the next one. (Scheduled on Sunday 20th January.)
