The Raluy Circus has just arrived in Barcelona!

If you like going to the circus, this information is for you:
The Raluy Circus will be in the old port from the 16th of December to the 6th of January 2008 and his show is called this year: “La Belle Epoque”.
It might no be the biggest, the most innovative or the best circus that comes to Barcelona but still… its small format will give you an idea of what the circus might have looked like years ago.
His show this year is a tribute to the romantic “Belle Epoque”, a time when the TV, DVD, video games had not yet been invented and the Opera, the ballet and the circus were therefore a very popular entertainment.

Another great characteristic of this circus is his carriages:
The owner Luis Raluy, who has always been attracted to the magic universe of the circus is also a great fan of antiques. Pushed by his 2 passions, he spent his life buying old circus carriages that during the 50’s and the 60’s circuses abandoned and preferred a complete modernization for modern trailers and containers. If one day you walk along the port, check them out. You will not be disappointed!
And for those who think that circuses are only for children, let me tell you one thing: I went to this small circus last year and was expecting hundreds of children screaming and jumping and getting over excited. But I was wrong! I was actually very surprised to see there were more adults than children. Was it because it was the night show and children usually sleep at this time? Or simply because going to the circus is a way for us to bring to life our children’s dreams? Nice thought, hey?
