Today we’d like to show you what Alexis Harris had to say about her experience in Camino Barcelona:

‘After taking Spanish in school for years and still not being able to carry on a conversation, I feared I would never be comfortable speaking the language. That is, until my two weeks at Camino Barcelona!

Being in a Spanish speaking environment 24 hours a day with excellent teachers and supportive staff really helped me finally bridge the gap between knowing Spanish and speaking Spanish.

When I first arrived at the school after a very long flight, I was impressed by the friendly staff (even at 8am on a Sunday!) as well as at the amazing location of the school. The school was right in the center of town very close to some of Barcelona’s most famous destinations such as ‘Las Ramblas’ and several examples of Gaudi’s Architecture.

Conveniently, the student apartment was located only a quick 10 minute walk from the school.. On the first day of class, after taking my placement exam, I was placed in a small class perfectly suited to my skill level. The personalized attention and engaging teaching style really made the difference! Before I knew it, I was speaking Spanish with other students and very soon felt confident enough to practice on the street with the friendly people of Barcelona.

The school even offered extra-curricular activities such as trips to local attractions and a weekly sangria party where I met other students from all over the world. My two weeks flew by and I can’t believe how much I advanced in such a short period.

Upon my return home, I have taken with me not only fond memories of a beautiful city with so much to do, but also a great increase in my Spanish speaking ability. I would highly recommend Camino Barcelona to anyone who wants to learn Spanish quickly and have fun!
