Spanish Host Families
Staying with a Spanish host family is the best option for students who wish to learn as much Spanish as possible in the time available to them. This is because if you choose to stay with a Spanish host family you will be totally immersed in the Spanish language, with lots opportunities to practise in the family the Spanish that you learn in class.
Though Catalan is spoken by many people in Barcelona, all our families will speak only standard Castilian Spanish to our students.
If you are for any reason unhappy in your host family, you will be moved, without question.

Every student is given a set of keys by the host family, after their arrival. |
Deposit: |
No deposit is required on arrival in the family. |
Notes: |
(i) In a few of our host families, private bathrooms are available, for a surcharge.
(ii) If friends or a couple wish to share a room in a host family, this is normally possible.
(iii) Bed linen is provided, but not towels.
(iv) Host families agree to do one clothes wash per week.
|
If you wish to share your room, but are not travelling with a friend, you can book a twin room and we will place another student in the room with you. The other student will be of the same sex as you, but of a different mother tongue. We will try to ensure that the student you are sharing with is of a similar age to you.
If you wish to arrange any extra nights, or would like to share accommodation with a friend or relative who will not be attending a course at our school, please let us know.
Please also let us know of any allergies, dietary requirements, or medical conditions you have that you would like your host family to be informed of.
Though there may be more than one student in a host family, we normally ensure that there are never two students of the same mother tongue in a host family, unless you specifically ask to be placed in the same family as a friend or relative.
A host family can be a married or unmarried couple, or a single person, with or without children. If you have a preference, please let us know.
It is very important to us that all our students are happy in their accommodation.
All our Spanish host families are all individually selected by us. A member of staff from our school visits the family to assess their suitability for hosting our students. All families agree to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for our students. We furthermore regularly check with our students to see if they are happy in their host families. If a student is for any reason unhappy in their host family, they are moved, without question.
