Lleida, Aplec del Caragol

Get ready for a day of music, tradition, and... snails! We are heading to the city of Lleida for the world-famous Aplec del Caragol. This massive gastronomic festival is centered around the humble snail (el caracol), but it’s so much more than just a meal. It is a giant, colorful celebration that brings together thousands of people for a weekend of joy and Catalan pride!

Trip Details

• Meeting Time: 8:45 am at the school (Please be on time so we can check attendance!).

• Departure: 9:00 am sharp by private bus.

• Return: We aim to be back at Camino around 19:00, though times may vary depending on the festival energy!

Music, Parades, and "Cargols"

The atmosphere at the Aplec is electric. The city streets fill with brass bands (charangas), traditional music, and vibrant parades. This is a fantastic chance to experience a traditional festival that tourists rarely get to see. Our teachers will lead the way through the festivities, helping you soak up the local vibe, navigate the crowded stalls, and of course, practice your Spanish in the middle of the party.

• Castells and Dances: Keep an eye out for traditional human towers or folk dances that often pop up during the celebration!
