Terms and Conditions
Definitions
Camino Barcelona Spanish Language School shall be referred to as ‘the school’ from this point onwards. 'The student' is the person in whose name the booking is made.
This Agreement
This agreement is legally binding once the school has received full or partial payment for a course and/or accommodation from a student. The laws of Spain shall apply to this agreement.
Payment
A deposit of €200 is required for (non-visa) bookings made more than 4 weeks before the course is due to start. The remainder of the course and accommodation fees are due no later than 4 weeks before the start of the course. If the remainder of the fees are not received 4 weeks before the course is due to start, the school reserves the right to cancel the course (and accommodation) booked. Full payment is required at the time of booking for reservations made less than 4 weeks before the course is due to start. Full payment is also required for visa students in order for them to receive the necessary documents for the consulate from the school.
The school retains the right to change the prices. However, no change will be made to the price of a course or accommodation once the deposit payment from a student has been received.
The student is responsible for ensuring that payment is received in full by the school, without bank charges having to be paid by the school.
Methods of Payment
Credit/Debit Card
The school accepts payment by Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards and debit cards. Visa and Mastercard payments are subject to a 2% surcharge. American Express payments are subject to a 4% surcharge.
Bank Transfer
You may choose to pay by bank transfer. The school should receive the full amount required, in euros, free of bank charges. If bank charges need to be paid by the school when the bank transfer is received, these charges will be added to the student’s invoice. Once a student has sent a bank transfer, they should notify the school of this, sending a copy of the bank transfer by mail or e-mail, to the school. The school’s bank details are:

Booking Amendments
The school may agree to booking amendments (change of dates, duration, type of course or accommodation etc.) requested by the student depending on the availability. The school must receive such requests in writing no later than 28 days before the start of the course and an amendment fee of 100 euros will be charged. Booking amendments will be accepted and no amendment fee will be applied if the student extends their course or changes to a more expensive course or accommodation (depending on availability).
If the booked course is not available for the student due to lack of course availability for their level of Spanish, an alternative course of the same value will be offered by the school.
Missed lessons
If the student cannot attend their planned private classes, the school must be informed in writing at least on Friday before the class. It is not possible to make up for single missed lessons or days of group courses. For such cases and unpredictable absences, the school offers a virtual afternoon club. In case of predictable absences, it is possible to take a break from classes for any number of full weeks (from Monday to Friday).
Activities and Excursions
General information about activities and excursions offered by the school should only be used as a guide and not as an accurate list of events. The school reserves the right to amend the program of activities.
Non–Visa Students
Cancellation policy
The school's refund policy complies with current Spanish law regarding refunds in the travel sector. Depending on the reason of your cancellation the following policies will apply:
1) In the case that you want to cancel the course and accommodation due to personal reasons (unrelated to COVID-19), the following will apply:
Cancellation up to 28 days before the start of the course: loss of 200 euros deposit only;
cancellation 27 to 14 days before the start of the course: loss of the enrolment fee (60 euros) plus 50% of the course fees and 50% of the accommodation fees;
cancellation 13 to 7 days before the start of the course: loss of the enrolment fee (60 euros) plus 75% of the course fees and 75% of the accommodation fees;
cancellation less than 7 days before the course is due to start: loss of the enrolment fee (60 euros) plus 100% of the tuition and accommodation fees, and loss of any additional services contracted, such as airport transfers.
No refund shall be given after the day that the course and/or accommodation starts.
The school will refund the fees according to the policy above to a bank account given by the student. It is not the school's responsibility if incorrect bank details are given by the student and the school will not issue another refund if this happens.
Note: the above conditions apply for our shared accommodation also in the case when one or more students from the same shared apartment get infected with Covid-19. The school will not be able to cancel or offer any refund for the accommodation if you and/or any of your flatmates test positive for Covid-19 during your stay.
Visa Students
Booking amendments
Once the visa support documents (enrollment letter, study plan and full payment receipt) have been sent to the student, the type of the booked Spanish course and its duration cannot be changed. The start date can be changed, and new visa support documents will be issued in case of an appeal after a visa rejection and in case of only being able to obtain an appointment at the embassy later than the start date of the course.
Once the student obtains their student visa, the start and end date of their program cannot be changed. If the student starts attending their classes later than planned, they can use their holiday weeks included in the program to not miss any classes.
Cancellation policy
The school's refund policy complies with current Spanish law regarding refunds in the travel sector. Depending on the reason you are canceling your program the following cancellation policies will apply:
1) In the case that the student receives a visa rejection:
The student needs to send the school an official rejection letter from the Spanish consulate and confirm whether they want to make an appeal or request a refund.
If the student chooses to make an appeal, the school will help them submit an appeal which may help them get a visa after the second application.
If the student chooses to request a refund, the school will refund them the total fees paid minus a 500-euro non-refundable deposit.
2) In the case of cancellation due to personal reasons:
If the student received their student visa successfully, they will need to cancel their visa by contacting the Spanish embassy or consulate that issued the visa. After the visa is canceled, they will need to send the cancellation notice to the school via email in order to receive a refund. The following refund conditions will then apply:
cancellation up to 28 days before the start of the course: loss of 500 euros deposit;
cancellation 27 to 14 days before the start of the course: loss of the enrolment fee (60 euros) plus 50% of the course fees and 50% of the accommodation fees;
cancellation 13 to 7 days before the start of the course: loss of the enrolment fee (60 euros) plus 75% of the course fees and 75% of the accommodation fees;
cancellation less than 7 days before the course is due to start: loss of the enrolment fee (60 euros) plus 100% of the tuition and accommodation fees, as well as loss of any additional services contracted, such as airport transfers.
No refund shall be given after the day that the course and/or accommodation is due to start.
If the student has not yet received their visa support documents from the school, they only need to send the cancellation notice to the school and the same refund conditions will apply.
In case the student wants to cancel the course (and the accommodation if booked) after having received the visa application documents from the school but without having used those documents for visa application, then the student must undergo a legal procedure in order to guarantee in the name of the law that the student will not use the documents received from the school for visa application, and in addition, the student must cover all the additional expenses that the school may undergo in order to conclude such a procedure. After that the school will be able to refund to the student the amount that the student paid for the Spanish course (and the accommodation if booked) except for 600 euros of the cancellation fee which the school will keep.
It is not possible to issue a refund once the student receives their visa and arrives to Spain.
The school will refund the fees according to the policy above to a bank account given by the student. It is not the school's responsibility if incorrect bank details are given by the student and the school will not issue another refund if this happens.
Travel, Visa support documents
Students must make their own travel arrangements and are responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documents, such as a valid passport and visa. The school will supply the necessary documentation for students to obtain a visa if necessary but are not responsible for a Consular authority's decision whether to accept or reject a visa application. It is the student's responsibility to allow sufficient time to obtain a visa and they should check with the Consular authority of their country regarding an estimation of the time needed to complete the visa application process. If a student asks the school to send documentation to them by courier service/express delivery (not e-mail or normal mail), the student will be charged for the cost of this express delivery/courier service.
Airport Transfers
The school can arrange airport transfers from Barcelona International Airport to the student’s accommodation. The school must receive payment from the student for this service, together with full details of the student’s arrival time and flight number no later than 7 days before a student is due to arrive. If the school does not receive these flight details within 2 days before the predicted date of arrival of the student, the school is not responsible for the student being met at the airport and the airport transfer fee will not be refunded.
The School's Expectations
Students, and those accompanying students, are expected to behave in a courteous manner and to respect fellow students and staff at the school, as well as those with whom they share their accommodation. The illegal use of drugs, alcohol abuse, or inconsiderate or offensive behavior towards others is considered unacceptable. The school reserves the right to withhold courses and school accommodation from any student violating the school's regulations or generally behaving in an inconsiderate or offensive manner towards others. The school reserves the right to terminate the course and/or accommodation of any student violating the terms of this article. In such circumstances, no refund will be paid for the course or for the accommodation.
