Program Modules

Your starting point in this course will depend on your current level of Spanish! If you start as a complete beginner you will achieve B2 DELE qualification at the end of your course, allowing you to join any undergraduate or Master's programs in the Universities of Spain. If you have some level of Spanish - you can achieve a higher level at the end of your course.

Level: A1

By the end of this module, you will be able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and simple sentences aimed at the satisfaction of immediate needs. You will also be able to introduce yourself and ask for and give basic personal information about home, possessions, and people you know. You will be able to interact in a basic way provided the speaker speaks slowly and clearly and is willing to cooperate. You will be able to use one present tense, as well as three past tenses and one future tense!

4 weeks: 80 hours in total, 20 hours per week.

Level: A2

By the end of this module you will be able to understand common phrases and expressions related to your personal experience in areas such as; basic personal information, family, shopping, places of interest and work. You will be able to express yourself in simple everyday tasks that only requiere a basic exchange of simple information. You will also be able to describe your past as well as describe your current surroundings in order to express your immediate needs.

4 weeks: 80 hours in total, 20 hours per week.

Level: B1

By the end of this module you will be able to understand the main ideas in clear standard texts regarding familiar topics such as work, studies or leisure activities. You will also be able to communicate in many situations that frequently occur during trips to Spanish-speaking countries. Furthermore, you will be able to produce simple and coherent texts about familiar topics or those of personal interest. Finally, you will be able to describe experiences, wishes and aspirations as well as, justify opinions or explain leisure plans.

10 weeks: 200 hours in total, 20 hours per week.

Level: B2

By the end of this module you will be able to understand the main ideas in complex texts that are of abstract or technical nature, as long as they are within the specialized topics for this level. You will be able to communicate with native Spanish speakers with sufficient fluency and communication will be natural with little effort for either of the speakers. You will also be able to produce clear and detailed texts regarding a range of topics. For instance, you will have to defend a given point of view by weighing up the pros and cons of different opinions on a general topic. You will be considered an independent user of Spanish.

10 weeks: 200 hours in total, 20 hours per week.

Level: C1

By the end of this module you will be to understand a wide variety of extensive texts that are demanding in level, as well as recognise implicit meanings. You will be able to communicate in a fluent and spontaneous manner, showing few signs of effort or difficulty in expressing yourself appropriately. You will be a able to use the Spanish language in a flexible and effective way for social, academic and profesional use. Furthermore, you will be able to produce clear, well structured and detailed texts regarding certain complex topics, demonstrating the correct use of organization mechanisms, discourse management and coherence.

12 weeks: 240 hours in total, 20 hours per week.

Level: C2

A C2 Proficiency qualification will show the world that you have mastered Spanish to an exceptional level. It will prove that you can communicate with the fluency and sophistication of a highly competent Spanish speker. By the end of this module, you will be able to study demanding subjects at the highest level (including postgraduate and PhD programmes), negotiate and persuade effectively at senior management level in international business settings, understand the main ideas of complex pieces of writing, talk about complex or sensitive issues, and deal confidently with difficult questions.

12 weeks: 240 hours in total, 20 hours per week.

DELE B2 or DELE C1 exam preparation

DELE exam preparation courses are run 4 weeks before each DELE exam date, and are run in the midday after your Intensive course 4 days per week, Monday to Thursday, 13:40 - 15:40, 8 hours per week. The course is run by experienced teachers, DELE examiners. You will be able to sit for your exam right at the exam center at our school, with your teachers, DELE examiners. This course cost additional 400 euros per course, 320 euros with the current 20% discount.

Book 4 weeks of Accommodation

The 4 week period is sufficient to find your ideal accommodation or prolong the accommodation you are in to.

Additionally, if you need visa: Spanish visa authorities in all countries usually require students to show that they have booked accommodation at least for the first month of their stay abroad. This is one of the conditions to be granted a student visa. For this reason, many of our long-duration students choose to book accommodation in our on-site residence for the first 4 weeks of their stay while they look for their long-term accommodation and to benefit from the advantages of living on-site in the center of Barcelona (located just 10 minutes from Plaça de Catalunya).
