Here at Camino we offer our students very high-quality programs - quality is our first and foremost concern. At Camino you will make fast progress in your Spanish and will be able to go through the levels faster than you would in the other language schools that offer cheaper courses. At other schools, you may pay a cheaper price per week but you will ultimately pay more because you will need to book more weeks in total than you would at Camino.

1) Afternoon Club – New!
If you like, any day of the week you can join “Afternoon Club” at no extra cost (10 hours per week, from 16:00 till 18:00 Monday to Friday), where you will be able to get extra practice listening, speaking, writing, and reading, watch a film, get help with grammar, do homework, or use our school library. This represents 10 hours of extra Spanish per week, free of charge. For more information please see our Afternoon Club website page.

2) 7 Activities per week
We really want our students to enjoy their time in Barcelona, and so we offer activities every day of the week, always with a teacher! These activities include guided visits to different areas of Barcelona, salsa evenings, cooking paella on the school terraces, nighttime walks, bicycle trips, linguistic exchanges, boat trips, wine tasting, weekend excursions, and much much more! 3) All our teachers are native Spanish speakers
They also all have a university degree, the official Spanish teaching certificate (CAP), postgraduate qualifications in teaching Spanish as a foreign language, and a minimum of 2 years experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. Furthermore, we encourage our teachers to participate in training courses, in order to provide the best quality in teaching to our students.

4) The method our teachers use is communicative
This means learning the language through using it in class, rather than just studying it passively. With the communicative language approach, the teachers teach the language in the classroom in such a way that students spend a great deal of time in class actively using the language, speaking to each other, or to the teacher, writing, reading and listening, using Spanish in a meaningful and purposeful way in class, in much the same way as they would in real life in their own language. This ensures that the students quickly acquire a real ability to use Spanish, accurately and effectively, for any situation in which they can find themselves, able to communicate well with native speakers, in real life, whatever the level of the student may be. The teaching approach at our school is one of total immersion in the language - that is to say that you will be taught entirely in Spanish. This is widely accepted as the most effective way of learning a language, especially if what you want is to acquire a practical ability to use and understand the language, rather than just a theoretical knowledge of it.

Below you can see the estimated time needed for you to pass every level from zero to C1 level if you attend our Intensive Course program:
4 weeks and exam – level A1,
4 weeks and exam – level A2,
9 weeks and exam – level B1,
11 weeks and exam – level B2,
12 weeks and exam – level C1.
Important note: fluent Spanish language user does not necessarily mean a person who has achieved C1 or C2 level. In order to integrate into the Spanish society and comfortably use Spanish in everyday life or for working in a local company or studying in a local university etc., in most of cases having B1/B2 level is absolutely enough.

If you would like to participate in a small, dynamic class with lessons that take place in the morning, I would highly recommend our Intensive Spanish Course (20 classes per week). This is the most popular of our Spanish courses, and it is intensive enough to help you make rapid progress with your Spanish, whilst at the same time allowing you plenty of free time to join our activities with a teacher to explore Barcelona. The course is run from 09:30 till 13:10 (20 min break included) from Monday to Friday (except bank holidays) and you can start any Monday for all levels of Spanish.

In addition, and especially if your course is of short duration and you would like to get the most of learning Spanish during your time at our school, you can choose to add 1 conversation lesson every day to your Intensive course, making it a 25 lessons per week course.

Alternatively, we also offer structured Private Courses which you can take instead or combine with an Intensive Spanish Course and Conversation lessons. The One-to-One courses give you an opportunity to add any number of private lessons and on the days that you prefer. You can request your preferred days and schedule to have a private tutor, and we will do our best to organize it for you. These courses are the perfect choice if you have particular needs that you do not feel will be met in a group course, or if you simply wish to have more individualized attention, so as to learn faster. If your goal is to practice Spanish with a native teacher only taking private lessons, we have packages of 10, 20 or 30 private lessons a week at your disposal.

Our Super-Intensive and Conversation Course is recommended to those who want to make fast progress in their Spanish, because it will allow you not only to learn the grammar content and structures in the Spanish language, but also practice it during the speaking part of the Intensive course and later during your Conversation sessions, which are topic-based lessons meant to give you as much speaking practice and vocabulary in a certain topic as possible. Those classes are very dynamic and help you better memorise and absorb the grammar material which you learn during intensive morning classes.

DELE Preparation course is a very good option if you need to receive the most official and internationally recognised certificate of the Spanish language. Normally students need it for work or educational purposes outside of Spain, or to apply for the Spanish nationality. The peculiarity of the DELE Preparation course is that you will not learn any grammar content during this type of course. The focus will be put only on the specific exercises that will be given at the DELE exam, and the teacher will make sure you are equally very well prepared for every part of the exam - Written, Reading, Listening and Speaking. We always recommend taking a DELE Preparation course of a certain level only after you have finished that level attending our general Intensive course.

All this mentioned, I would say that you will undoubtedly benefit from the course you have enrolled on in terms of fast learning, and if you also join our Afternoon Club (where you can practice your Spanish for free and in a very personalised way with the help of the teacher) and everyday cultural activities (you will learn a lot about Barcelona, Spanish culture, discover many nice and interesting places and be accompanied by our teacher who will be your Spanish guide), that will give you the opportunity to be surrounded by native speakers and other students with whom you can practice you Spanish during the whole day.

We offer a wide range of activities that change every week! Some of our activities are: Welcome drink for all our new students, workshops on Spanish culture, literature or cinema. Also we organize trips to the museum, dinners, salsa lessons.

In addition to school activities, we also have activities recommended for days when the school is closed (such as weekends or holidays). Some of our activities are, for example, excursions to places of interest, such as the Monastery of Montserrat, the Dali Museum in Figueres, day trips to Girona, Sitges or Tossa de Mar.
